“Great time saver and does a superb job of vacuuming and wet mopping my LVP floors. Use it daily as my dog sheds hair like crazy. Set up is super easy; plug in, put clean water in the clean tank and once it’s charged, it’s ready to clean! To set automations you need to download the app but it’s free and easy to use. There is no printed user guide or manual - it also needs to be downloaded or viewed on line. It’s one of my peeves. I’m 66 and learn better by reading & reviewing written instructions. However, the new app is easy to use even without reading instructions.

This was an upgrade from my older iRobot that I bought 6 yrs ago and which now cleans my garage. The new model is so much quieter and the lydar mapping is more accurate. I love that it also dries the mop pads once done and compensates for rugs automatically by raising the wet floor pads and only vacuuming the rugs.

My biggest complaint is that iRobot put this same make and model on sale for $200.00 less than what I bought it for on Amazon within days of my purchase. Still, no regrets!”

Auto-shortened: "Over the years, I’ve used many robotic vacuums as an early adopter of new tech. My first was a Roomba, so I was excited to try one of their newer vacuum and mop combo machines.

The product arrived well-packaged, including the robot, docking station, power cable, two mop heads with extra pads, and a corner brush. Assembly was simple: attach the mop and spinning brushes, place the ramp, and plug in the dock.

Setup was seamless using a QR code and the Roomba app, which provides a manual and guides you through everything. The dock includes clean and dirty water tanks for mop pad maintenance, plus a disposable (but reusable) dust bag.

Mapping took under 10 minutes using lidar—a major upgrade from past Roombas. It accurately mapped complex spaces, like around a kitchen island.

I tested it in a vinyl-floored room with multiple throw rugs, knowing this would challenge its ability to differentiate surfaces. The robot offers several modes: vacuum only, mop only, vacuum then mop, or vacuum and mop. I chose the latter to test its carpet-detection.

You can customize cleaning per room—selecting deep or normal clean, suction strength, and 1 or 2 cleaning passes. Once started, the robot clearly announces its tasks.

During testing, I was impressed. It accurately detected even thin carpets, lifted its mop pads, and vacuumed without getting them wet. Periodically, it returned to the dock to rinse and re-moisten the pads.

The cleaning performance was excellent—it vacuumed rugs effectively and left hard floors clean and streak-free. After the job, it docked, cleaned the pads, and dried them using air (not heated, as far as I can tell).

Overall, this Roomba is one of the best I’ve used. It works exactly as expected. The app is well-designed and among the better ones I’ve encountered.

The automatic carpet-sensing feature is a standout. No need to manually assign mop zones—the robot adapts on its own. It handled mixed surfaces in a single room flawlessly.

Water tanks are easy to access and clean. You can use detergent in the clean tank, but I stuck with water. Roomba recommends specific cleaners for the dock.
